“Not My King”: Stephen A. Smith Goes Off on LeBron James in Heated Clash

Things just got real between NBA icon LeBron James and ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith—and it’s way beyond sports commentary. After LeBron clapped back at Smith over comments made about his son, Bronny James, the two are now locked in a public back-and-forth that’s starting to feel very personal.

LeBron Calls Out Stephen A. Smith for “Getting Personal”

In a recent statement, LeBron didn’t hold back:

“Stephen A. Smith is on a Taylor Swift tour run right now… if anyone was waiting on the video to come out it was his ass… he completely missed the whole point. He got personal about it all and it’s my job to not only protect my household but also all the players.”

LeBron’s message was clear: Smith crossed a line by making things personal, especially when it comes to Bronny, who is just starting his journey in the league.

Stephen A. Smith Fires Back HARD

Smith responded on his own platform, The Stephen A. Smith Show, and let’s just say… he didn’t hold back either:

“If that man put his hands on me, I would’ve immediately swung on him. Immediately.”

He also called LeBron a “liar”, took issue with LeBron’s comments from the Pat McAfee Show, and even said:

“When you retire let’s see how much I talk about you then. You won’t matter much. I promise you.”

Yikes.

“Kings Don’t Get Blamed” – Stephen A. Sends Final Shot

Perhaps the coldest quote of the night was:

“Kings don’t get blamed. I guess that’s why he’s not my King.”

What Sparked This All?

It all started when LeBron responded to criticism surrounding Bronny’s performance, defending his son and younger players who are often unfairly scrutinized. Smith, however, took offense—claiming LeBron’s comments were aimed at him and suggesting LeBron was deflecting.

Fans React: Who’s in the Right?

NBA fans are split—some think LeBron had every right to defend his son, while others believe Stephen A. is simply doing his job as a commentator. But with name-calling, threats of swinging, and royalty metaphors flying, this feud has officially crossed into must-watch territory.

Should LeBron have said something? Did Stephen A. go too far? Or is this just sports media drama at its finest?
